Hobbs Heirloom quilt wadding (quilt batting) was created at the request of Harriet Hargrave to meet the needs of quilters. It is the only unbleached quilt wadding that is easy to quilt by hand or machine and can be quilted up to 4” apart. Heirloom cotton quilt wadding shrinks 3-5%, and can be preshrunk to minimize undesired shrinkage. It is very clean cotton mixed with 20% polyester, lightly needlepunched and lightly resinated. This product has more loft than the typical cotton quilt wadding, which gives more definition to the stitch than other 100% cottons.
Queen size 90" x 108", 80% cotton, 20% polyester.
It is not recommended to put this wadding through a machine wash before quilting – pre-shrinking can be done by just soaking the wadding in luke-warm water in a bath or similar (without agitating), then drying flat – you can spin dry to get rid of the excess water.

Having returned by last batting purchase from another supplier for being woefully thin I went for this 80/20 mix. It certainly is thicker and will no doubt be warmer, it doesn't feel very nice, you can tell it's def not 100% cotton but should be fine once quilted. I'm going to try dunelms curtain lining for my next project, its cheap and 100% cotton it that doesn't work I might get this again.
