Made from 100% needlepunched wool, with scrim, this hypoallergenic wool wadding brings a warm and luxuriously soft feel to your quilting projects. Excellent for machine quilting and can be quilted up to 8 inches apart. Wool gives excellent warmth without extra weight and is naturally hydroscopic, absorbing up to 25% of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp, making it perfect for cold climates.
Our Sew Simple Super Soft 100% wool wadding is 90 inches wide off the bolt, available by the half metre - orders of more than 1 unit will be sent uncut, as a single length, e.g for 2m wadding order 4 units.
Pre-washing is not necessary but wool wadding will shrink up to 5% in the first wash using cold water, giving an antique wrinkled look to your quilt. If pre-washing is desired, hand wash and dry naturally. Use cold water and mild detergent, soak for 15 minutes, squeeze out excess moisture by rolling in a towel and dry naturally by laying flat. DO NOT machine wash or tumble dry before quilting. After quilting Super Soft wool wadding should be hand washed using a mild detergent in cold water and dried flat.
