One of our large range of 46 different solid colour fabrics from the Makower Spectrum range, this is a great quality, high thread count plain patchwork fabric in white, reference number 2000 W01.

This fabric is 100% cotton and is approximately 42 inches (112cm) wide off the bolt.

Our most common question is 'What is a fat quarter?' The diagram below shows how all the various cuts of fabric are measured, but in short:

A fat quarter is where half a metre is cut off the fabric bolt, then cut in half again parallel to the selvedge - finished size is approximately 20" x 21-22" (50cm x 55cm) including the selvedge
A long quarter is simply quarter of a metre cut straight off the bolt - finished size is approximately 10" x 42-44" (25cm x 110cm) including the selvedge.

I ordered this sample as I wanted a solid white to use along with graphic prints to make a modern sampler quilt. Unfortunately it seems thin and see through next to the other fabrics.

Thank you very much for your review. Our plain fabrics are all of the same weight and thread count as most standard quilting cottons, sometime a printed fabric can seem heavier due to the printing process.
